Fall Outfit #1

Let’s start with the absolute top-notch Fall piece: the leather (or faux-leather) jacket. Whenever you want to dress up your athleisure wear or give your cute little dress a bit more edge, this is the one thing to wear.

To confront these chilly mornings, drop in an extra layer by wearing a cozy sweater under your jacket. Add denim and squeaky clean sneakers, and you will run those boring errands looking amazing without too much effort.

I have to admit I was very skeptical when leather leggings made their appearance on the list of street fashion trends a few years back. However, I scored a pair of Spanx faux leather leggings on sale two years ago, and to my surprise, I’ve found myself wearing them so many times and for so many different occasions. They substitute for my black leggings when the temperatures drop and allow me to stay warm and look cool all at the same time! I understand they might not be suitable for everyone but they deserve a spot among these Fall outfit ideas.

And while we’re talking about fitted trousers, I love the idea of pairing these leggings with an oversized coat and a basic white tee. Suede ankle boots will complete the look.

Five years ago, I bought myself a classic-cut camel color wool coat. I’ve worn it countless times, and every time I put it on, I instantly feel put-together. It’s the perfect combination of easy sophistication and basic comfort. So easy to dress it up or down.

In this outfit, I am showing it with a grey t-shirt and relaxed mom denim. Add a pair of sneakers and a tote bag for the ideal combo.

Fall Outfit #4

You know those Monday mornings when all you want to do is to grab a coffee and do the school run in your pajamas. Except you already know your gonna bump into those moms who are actually wearing lipstick and heels at 8.00 a.m.… (hats off to them! – seriously ladies, you are my heroes).

If you are more like me, here is my smart solution: wear the chunky knit sweater dress. Go for 1-3” heeled boots and you will look dressy without putting in any energy… and no aching pain later in the day!

Another “minimal effort, maximal result” Fall outfit inspo.

I really love to wear sharp-looking sneakers with tailored trousers. A skillful, unexpected choice of accessories always makes your outfit stand out. It’s a smart, cozy way to look like “the girl who knows what to do with her closet” at work.

Fall Outfit #6

Little did I know back in ‘94 when I decided not to throw away my much-loved high-rise, straight-leg jeans. Even if my crush on Brandon Walsh ended up in the garbage with all my other BH90210 mementos, my loose fit, high-waisted denim has become my vintage piece to wear with pride now. To be honest, the fit was a bit looser back then…my waist has gained a few inches 😉

Mom jeans are gloriously resurfacing from the ’90s and are positively the “it” jeans now. And what would Brenda do now? Same as in ‘94…wear it with a white tee and a black moto jacket.

A tweed jacket is a savvy investment piece for your wardrobe. No matter if you are wearing it to work or for a more relaxed country weekend, it’s a timeless staple that would make Madame Chanel proud.

In the following outfits, I am suggesting 2 different ways of giving new life to this much-loved garment.

Time to bring out your pretty knee-high boots. What to say about them? Comfortable? Check. Warm? Check. Stylish? Check. Perfect whatever way your day rolls ahead.

There’s something so simply stylish about a monochromatic black ensemble. Feminine and flattering, it is a worthy option and serves as your fast-track pass when you want to skip the “ what to wear today” face.

Practice your layering skills and play with different textures to pull it all together.

Hi Carrie, thanks for taking the time to write.

I have more than one pin related to this article, could you give me some more details on the sweater you’re looking for? If you haven’t found it in the links in the article, I am afraid it might be sold out. However, let me know which one and I’ll have a look for you.

      Best,
      Mara

    Hello Mara,

Truly grateful that I fell on your post. I love all your pairings however I live in Montreal Canada and it’s quite a challenge to shop for the required pieces. Is there some Canadian equals that I can shop from.

You are a great inspiration !
